Regardless of where one stands on the politics, from a purely technical / wow factor standpoint this is one of the best custom videos / Facebook integrations I have seen. MoveOn.Org is also doing well to ally with groups like SEIU, from whom I learned of this video via an email that was very well done. My second favorite thing is that none of the other links on the page work, so in essence everything besides the video itself and the “Send this Video to Your Friends” is nothing more than an elaborate background- which IMHO is a very clever way to present the video and add to the mystique / novelty of seeing yourself ‘featured’ on the Glenn Beck show.
I would add a few things:
1. The ability to do a screen capture and print still images. (Without the use of print screen & Photoshop) Also the ability to rewind and fast forward. (This might be a technological limitation).
2. Missing tools to share via Facebook, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon , etc from the landing page. After you click “Send this video to friends” it does give you an option to post the video to your Facebook wall. Upon signing up for / forwarding the email, you receive a confirmation with links to post to Facebook and Twitter.
3. I would also look into adding in the ability to automatically connect to Gmail, AOL, Yahoo, etc and forward the video to your contacts that way as well. In my experience, the fewer steps / simpler the process is the better.
4. I am assuming the decision to leave out a donation request was on purpose.
5. For the email from SEIU, a link to forward / share or view the email as a webpage would have been nice.
